A movie based on the true story of piracy attacks on the container ship Maersk Alabama in 2009. Richard Phillips, the captain of the ship, uses his wits to negotiate with them to save his crew.
A reality-based film about the young Canadian Jay Bahadur who wants to become a journalist without walking the usual path of higher education. The movie takes place in the 2000s when piracy problems were greatest in Somalia, a country in civil war from which no Western journalists report. Bahadur realizes that if he goes there and starts reporting on the pirates, he will overnight become a journalist – because he is the only one who does.
