Margaret Roberts was born on 13 October 1925 and died at the age of 88 on 8 April 2013. She grew up in simple and conservative conditions but managed to get a scholarship to Oxford. She ran for Dartford and lost. The outcome was the same in the 1951 election. Read full “Brief” here.
